Four policemen attached to Osun State Command were Thursday killed by gunmen while they were travelling to Anambra State to maintain law and order in the governorship election holding today, November 16, in the state.
It was gathered that heavily armed gunmen at the Benin bypass attacked the vehicle conveying the officers, leading to the death of four of the officers.
However, it couldn’t be ascertained at the moment whether the attackers were political thugs or men of the underworld.
Efforts to confirm the death from the Edo State Police Commissioner, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo, were futile.
However, a senior police officer at the Command disclosed that the command was yet to be briefed about the sad incident.
